PUERTO MONTT & PEURTO VARAS (CHILE)
PUERTO MONTT & PUERTO VARAS
This area was settled by German immigrants in the 1850’s. Puerto Montt is a port city in southern Chile’s Lake District, known as a gateway to the Andes mountains and the Patagonian fjords. Puerto Varas (also known as "La Ciudad De Las Rosas" or “The City Of Roses”) is situated on the shore of Llanquihue Lake, the second largest lake in Chile and is famous for its German traditions. Our tour also took in the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park which was the highlight. This national park containing the Petrohué Waterfalls covers around 977 square miles and is almost entirely in the Andes mountain chain.
