BEAGLE CHANNEL & GLACIER ALLEY (CHILE)
The Beagle Channel is a strait in the Tierra del Fuego Archipelago, on the extreme southern tip of South America between Chile and Argentina. This channel gained its name from “HMS Beagle”, the ship that that Charles Darwin sailed upon during his1833 expeditions. One of the most striking sights along the channel can be found in the shape of the so-called Glacier Alley. Described in detail by Charles Darwin during his five-year voyage on the HMS Beagle, these are a series of five glaciers—which are named Holanda, Italia, Francia, Alemania and Romanche
