PUERTO CHACABUCO (CHILE)

Puerto Chacabuco is named after the corvette Chacabuco with which Enrique Simpson explored the fjords and archipelagoes of Aysén Region in the 1870s. The town is the site of important fish and shellfish processing plants. To be honest it looked very poor, but the scenery was spectacular especially when we sailed along the 70 km long Aysén Fjord. The town is the site of important fish and shellfish processing plants.
