AJACCIO, CORSICA
Ajaccio is a pretty little town on the French island of Corsica. We had a morning stroll around the local market and then around the town and harbour. Napoleon Bonaparte was born in Ajaccio and lived there for 9 years. When he went to military college in Paris he was teased and bullied because of his strong Corsican accent. Despite being a dictator and an uncaring general, he is widely celebrated in Ajaccio despite only spending his childhood there.
