OLYMPIA
Olympia, home of the Olympic Games is a place where the often warring city states of Ancient Greece would send their athletes to compete and suspend all hostilities until the games were over. Much of the site remains, albeit as ruins, the nearby river having washed away some land. A sacred flame would be lit to signal the start of the games, and this ceremony is continued today, without the cessation of hostilities!
